Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) releases updates for iOS 6 apps

For those who have been facing issues with Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Passbook and Siri apps here is some good news.

On Wednesday, the company released updates to its latest operating system iOS, which gives support to various application s including the iOS 6 digital coupons and gift card management software Passbook and integration with Siri.

According to the release, users will be able to purchase gift cards and email them to friends and family directly from the Apple Store app. Upon receiving the email, the digital cards can be stored in Passbook for use at one of Apple's retail locations.

According to Cult of Mac staff, however, the Passbook functionality is not working yet, and the speculation is that it may be a server issue.

The update also enables integration with Siri, the voice-enabled assistant that guides users.

For instance if an iPhone user asks questions about price and availability of products, Siri immediately opens up the App Store and goes directly to the page where the product is featured.

The iOS Apple Store app is a free 6.0MB download that can be found in the iOS App Store or iTunes.

The Cult of Mac said about the updates - You can use the Apple Store app now to buy products on the go, then pick them up at an Apple Retail store, or even have them shipped to you (if you live in the US). You can order a new iPhone from your current iPhone order iPads and arrange for engraving, and even set up gift wrapping for some Apple products.
